NBA Insider Gives Update on James Harden to Clippers Trade

In this story:
It has now been several weeks since the initial report that James Harden wanted a trade from the Philadelphia 76ers to the LA Clippers, and while that has yet to materialize, NBA insider Shams Charania recently reported that Harden's desire is unchanged:
“The relationship between James Harden and Daryl Morey is essentially severed, it’s essentially fractured throughout this process.”

Sources have revealed to AllClippers that Harden's desire to be traded to the Clippers was strengthened when the team officially re-signed Russell Westbrook. The two played together on the Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets, and remain close friends even after going their separate ways.
While the 76ers are still intent on getting a better package than what is currently being offered, it's continuing to seem less and less likely that Harden is open to remaining in Philadelphia. This is not a surprising development, but as Charania included in his report, an unhappy James Harden is already something that has been seen up close. The 76ers risk that possibility if they choose to enter camp with Harden on their roster.
Understanding this dynamic, the Clippers seem in no rush to up their offer, nor should they be. With no other teams aggressively pursuing Harden, and the 76ers star seemingly unwilling to return to his current team, the Clippers are not going to meet the current demands of Daryl Morey. As things stand currently, Harden still wants the Clippers and the Clippers still want Harden.
