Blake Griffin was one of the most exciting players in NBA history, captivating NBA fans around the world. It turns out, that some of those fans who were captivated are now current NBA players - like Trae Young.

When Blake Griffin announced his retirement yesterday, Trae Young gave an emotional reaction on Twitter. Young is currently only 25 years old and was in high school when Blake Griffin was an All-Star in the NBA.

"🫡. To the Legend that gave Thousands if not Millions of kids a show every time you hooped!! From HS in OK to the Big Leagues!! Not many of us & I always will appreciate you for the inspiration as a kid 🙏🏽 1 of 1💯! Enjoy retirement Big Bro🏌️‍♂️"

From day one in the NBA, Blake Griffin was an absolute star. Quite literally, Griffin was an All-Star in his rookie year, averaging 22.5 points, 12.1 rebounds, and 3.8 assists on 50.6% shooting from the field. Throughout his tenure with the Clippers, Griffin averaged 21.6 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 4.0 assists on 51/32/68 shooting.

Blake Griffin's ability to adapt from strictly being a high-flying dunker to becoming a point forward is one that set a precedent every big man in the NBA followed. A stretch-four or stretch-five has become the norm in the modern NBA, and Blake Griffin worked tirelessly to adapt to that.

While many younger NBA fans weren't around during Blake Griffin's prime, hoepfully, they'll be reminded of it through modern players like Trae Young play tribute.
