BREAKING: Grizzlies Enter Massive Trade With Celtics and Wizards

With the LA Clippers no longer involved in the three-team trade with the Boston Celtics and Washington Wizards, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski has reported that the Memphis Grizzlies are sending point guard Tyus Jones to the Wizards in order to complete the trade that sends Kristaps Porzingis to the Celtics.

The original three-team trade was set to send Kristaps Porzingis to the Boston Celtics, Malcolm Brogdon to the LA Clippers, and Marcus Morris, Amir Coffey, and LA's 30th overall pick to the Washington Wizards. The new trade with the Memphis Grizzlies involved will send Tyus Jones to the Wizards and Marcus Smart to the Grizzlies.

This is a lot to break down after it seemed the Clippers, Wizards, and Celtics were closing in on a deal, but it will now be the Grizzlies who get involved by sending out Jones and bringing in Smart. In a follow-up Tweet announcing the deal, Wojnarowski said, "The Grizzlies have been searching for a tough-minded, playoff-tested veteran for that young roster --- and landed him in Marcus Smart."

Smart will presumably start at point guard while the Grizzlies await the return of Ja Morant, who will miss the team's first 25 games due to his gun video suspension. After that, Memphis would have to figure out the guard rotation. This is a massive trade that will land Porzingis in Boston, Jones in Washington, and Smart in Memphis.
