In the massive five-team trade that sent Dillon Brooks to the Houston Rockets, the Memphis Grizzlies ended up with 2021 first-round pick Josh Christopher. Selected 24th overall by the Rockets in 2021, Christopher has yet to show much at the NBA level, averaging just 6.9 PPG in 138 career games. Excited for a new opportunity with the Grizzlies, Christopher spoke with David Yapkowitz of ClutchPoints about this upcoming season.

"I tend to try not to move with emotion dealing with basketball," Christopher told Yapkowitz. "I had a real good connection with the team, it was more so for opportunity. I'm just excited for whatever is next."

On what he can bring the Grizzlies, Christopher said, "I can bring everything, I'm a two-way player. I've been working on my jump shot obviously, so being able to spot up, and then play defense as well. At the same time I use my creative abilities to play ball and really just affect the game and affect winning."

Christopher should have an opportunity to get some minutes for a Grizzlies team that is currently thin on forward depth. Still yet to officially announce a new starting small forward after the departure of Dillon Brooks, Memphis will likely use training camp to look at all of their options at that position before deciding who fits best next to Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Desmond Bane.
