The Memphis Grizzlies will be without star point guard Ja Morant for their first 25 games next season. Following his second gun video incident in as many months, Morant was suspended by the NBA for 25 games, which has been a topic of debate since the news was announced.

Recently speaking with TMZ, former Memphis Grizzlies player Gilbert Arenas called out the NBA for their ruling, claiming it's too harsh.

"It's too harsh," Arenas said of Morant's suspension. "Here's the reason. The NBA gun suspensions, the actual gun suspensions, have only been one, three, and seven games. Seven games has been the biggest, that was a gun being fired in a crowded place. Now, the suspensions like me and what Ja got is not related to guns, it's related to behavior."

Arenas said these suspensions that are for "conduct detrimental to the NBA" can often be unfair, because they have no real precedent and can be determined based upon how the league feels in that moment. Of course having his own experience with a situation like this, Arenas feels it's unfair what Morant has been handed by the NBA, and expects the star point guard to appeal the suspension and win.

There has been no indication from Morant and his camp that an appeal is coming, but Arenas would be in favor of it.
