During a recent segment of FanDuel's Run It Back show, former NBA player Chandler Parsons reacted to Russell's comments, sharing his own experience with public humiliation when he was with the Memphis Grizzlies.
"When I was in Memphis, I was publicly humiliated every single day," Parsons said. "Whether that was a fan being a d-ck to me at a restaurant, whether that was media, people on Twitter, whatever. That happens, and a lot of the time that makes you so closed off and it makes you cold and it kinda - I'm a happy go lucky person, and it made me an a--hole. I would see someone at the store and they would ask for a picture, and I would think that they were just gonna use this picture to clown me, and I would say no. It makes you cold. So everything that he has went through with the media and the fans... I understanding what he's doing,"
