In a series of Twitter posts on Wednesday, Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant received a special honor from Murray State Basketball. The official Twitter account of Murray State Basketball shared several posts for "Ja Morant day" that included quotes from their Director of Athletics and head coach.

Steve Prohm, Murray State's head coach, said of Morant, "Watching from afar the impact Ja had on this program and this community during his time here was amazing. Ja will forever have an incredible legacy at Murray State that stretches far beyond the wins and championships. Ja will go down as one of the most impactful and decorated Murray State student-athletes. We are all fortunate to have him in the Racer Family!"

Murray State's Director of Athletics Nico Yantko said, "Murray State Men's Basketball is a program built on a tradition of excellence, and Ja Morant has played a huge role in that tradition. He is a great advocate for our sport programs and truly loves the Racers. We wish him continued success in his career and cannot wait to have him back home again soon."

Morant reposted these messages on his account, acknowledging the special honor that he received from his former school. Making a strong impact on Murray State's program and the community around it, Morant will always be highly regarding by everyone there.
