Ja Morant Shares Message Before Lakers vs. Grizzlies Series

In this story:
After dominating most of the regular season, the Memphis Grizzlies secured the Western Conference's second seed. With the Los Angeles Lakers defeating the Minnesota Timberwolves in the play-in tournament, a first round matchup between LA and Memphis was secured. Ahead of Sunday's opening game, Grizzlies star Ja Morant shared a message about his level of excitement.
"Definitely. We've felt the energy since the start of the season, but playoffs is a different type of basketball, different type of energy, and the Forum will be rocking. So obviously we were super excited we were able to have home-court advantage in this first series, with our first two being at home. We know the crowd is gonna bring the energy, and we just gotta feed off that and go out and get wins for them to move on."

The Grizzlies were nearly unbeatable at home this season, posting an NBA-best 35-6 record at home. Securing home-court advantage is something that should be crucial for them, and it's something Morant went in-depth about in his media availability session before the series.
While the Lakers are no ordinary 7th seed, the Grizzlies have a lot of confidence that they can take this group all the way. It was an up and down season for Memphis, but they were able to fight through adversity to secure a top-two finish.
