Hawks vs Magic: Three Questions About Orlando Heading Into This Game

Atlanta has had two days to clean up their mistakes from their loss to Oklahoma City and they will get to try and get back in the win column tonight against the Orlando Magic.

The Magic bring in one of the top defenses in the NBA and they are going to present challenges for the Hawks, who have one of the NBA's top offenses.

Ahead of tonight's game, I spoke with The Magic Insider reporter Jeremy Brener to get a preview of tonight's game and an early look at what has been happening in Orlando this season.

1. How has Paolo Banchero looked so far in his second season?

"Paolo Banchero took a few games to get into a rhythm, but he is back to his peak form from last year. He scored 30 points against the Jazz last week, and since then he's been on a tear. With the injuries the team is currently facing, having him playing at a high level is key for the team's success."

2. The Magic have lacked consistency in the backcourt in recent seasons, how has it looked early in the year?

"If by inconsistency you mean different lineups, then the Magic is definitely right there again. Markelle Fultz has sat out the last three games with a knee injury, prompting Anthony Black to move into the starting lineup. Should Fultz and Gary Harris be unable to go, Black will draw another start. However, him and Jalen Suggs have proven to be a strong defensive duo that should challenge Trae Young and Dejounte Murray."

3. Can this team break through and get to the play-in tournament or the playoffs?

"If the team stay healthy, then definitely. After overcoming early-season injuries in its 5-20 start, the Magic finished over .500. But if you add the other factors (team chemistry and development, other teams in the East regressing), then the Magic still has a good shot to play in the postseason. Top to bottom, this is a Top 10 team in the East and maybe even top 6 with good health and some luck."
