With Game 7 approaching, the Boston Celtics have a chance to make history.

After losing the first three games of the series, they could defeat the Miami Heat tonight and become the first team in NBA history to erase a 3-0 deficit on their way to the Finals. While it could be an amazing comeback, it would be quite a stretch to call it the greatest one.

On Monday’s episode on Get Up, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst was asked if this could be the NBA's greatest comeback. Windhorst downplays it, saying the Cleveland Cavaliers’ 3-1 comeback in the 2016 Finals still holds the top spot.

“Look, you’re talking to somebody who was up close and personal in the 2016 Finals,” Windhorst said. “Coming back from 3-0 down, within the comeback within the comeback, the Derrick White tip. It’s very compelling. The Cavs winning that series down 3-1 against the 73-win team, winning Games 5 and 7 on the road. I’m not in position to put it past that.”

The 2016 Finals were great on many levels. Not only did the Cavaliers win those tough road games but they brought an end to the “Cleveland sports curse” which lasted for 52 years. LeBron James, who won back-to-back championships with the Miami Heat, was the leader of the 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers team.

As for Boston fans, they’ve seen their teams achieve historic comebacks, from football to baseball. All they are missing is one in basketball.

“But I certainly see why the Boston fans who have the 28-3 comeback in the Super Bowl, have the 2012 Red Sox comeback, will call themselves the Comeback City,” Windhorst said.
