Miami Heat Make Their Case For Jimmy Butler As Clutch Player Of The Year

With NBA awards times approaching, the Miami Heat released their pitch for Jimmy Butler as the league's Clutch Player of the Year.
This is the first year of existence to the award, given to players who perform the best in the final five minutes of close games. Butler deserves mention because he has performed well in these situations, especially with the Heat playing so many clutch games.

Butler is averaging 3.5 points in these moments, helping the Heat earn a 23-18 record in the 41 clutch games he's played this season. While Butler has produced late, it will likely be difficult for him to surpass Sacramento Kings guard De'Aaron Fox for this honor. Fox is listed as the favorite to win the award according to NBA.com
Fox is averaging five points in clutch moments while helping the Kings end a 16-year postseason drought. The Kings are the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference.
