Report: Jazz Add Former Celtics G Avery Bradley to Front Office Role

The Utah Jazz are bringing some new talent upstairs ahead of the approaching offseason.

As the 2023-24 Utah Jazz regular season officially comes to a close, the team has wasted no time in bringing some new names in to help aid in constructing this roster for the long-haul.

According to Deseret Sports' Sarah Todd, former Boston Celtics guard Avery Bradley will be headed to Salt Lake City, joining the Jazz as a vice president of player development. After spending 12 years in the league since being drafted in 2010, the 33-year-old is now headed upstairs.

"Since mid-December Bradley has been seen on the sidelines prior to Jazz games and has been hanging around the team in an unofficial role," Todd said. "More recently, Bradley has been even more visible with the team, as he’s traveled to away games and been seen giving advice to some of the younger guys. Rookie Keyonte George has made note of having a number of conversations with Bradley as the season has progressed."

Bradley has had an extensive connection with Jazz CEO Danny Ainge since their days together in Boston, which makes it easy to see how the stars aligned for this opportunity. It now makes for the second Celtics reunion we've seen Utah undertake this season, alongside Isaiah Thomas's brief G-League stint en route for a return to the NBA.

During his time in the league, Bradley was a consistent two-way wing who averaged 11.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.7 assists through 660 games played. He was also a two-time selection to the NBA's All-Defensive team in 2013 and 2016.

With the Jazz gearing up for a critical offseason ahead over the coming months, having a young, battle-tested mind in the building to help alongside the existing front office will be an extremely welcomed addition for Utah.
