Donte DiVincenzo may not be counting his three-pointers but New York Knicks fans certainly were on Monday night.

DiVincenzo got an early start on Knicks deep-ball history at Madison Square Garden upon the Detroit Pistons' visit: closing in the team's single-season landmark for most three-pointers in a single season, DiVincenzo set the single-game franchise record amidst a 124-99 New York blowout victory, hitting 11 in front of brief teammate and fellow record-holder Evan Fournier.

In the immediate aftermath, DiVincenzo, who needed 20 tries to earn the record (some of them coming as late attempts to make history as the Knicks pulled away), joked that he could've set an NBA record with 15 triples had collegiate teammte Jalen Brunson been more generous. He quickly declared that a team effort led the way on Monday, which yielded the Knicks' fifth victory over the past six games.

"Everybody was unselfish. Everybody was fighting for one another and it was a fun game to be a part of," DiVincenzo told MSG Network's Rebecca Haarlow in a postgame interview. "(I'm playing) in front of the best fans in the world and this is home for me."

Monday night proved to be one of landmarks for DiVincenzo: in addition to the new landmark from deep, the first-year Manhattanite posted the first 40-point game of his career. He's also just the second Knick to hit at least nine twice in a single season (along with JR Smith in 2013-14) and is now a mere eight triples from breaking Fournier's aforemention full campaign tally from 2021-22.

DiVincenzo technically hit a dozen three-pointers on Monday but had one taken away when officials determined he had a foot out of bounds. Had it counted, DiVincenzo would've shared the season-best mark for successful triples with Sacramento's Keegan Murray, who had a dozen in December.

The next chance for DiVincenzo to make more outside headway lands on Wednesday when the Knicks head north to face the Toronto Raptors (7:30 p.m. ET, MSG).
