The Lakers rolled over the Kings, 128-104, at home on Sunday night for their second straight win. Luka Dončić, who had a weird excuse after a loss last week, once again led the way with a game-high 28 points, which included one of the coolest 3-pointers in the NBA season.

With just under four minutes remaining in the third quarter and the Lakers holding on to a commanding 21-point lead, Dončić slipped and lost control of the ball on the offensive end. He was then able to quickly get back up, regain possession of the ball, and moments later drained a fadeaway 3-pointer.

Here’s that play, which Dončić made look way too easy:

Dončić had a funny comment about that play after the game, saying: “I slipped on purpose and it was, how do you say, the And-1 Mixtape.”

Dončić also admitted that he wasn’t familiar with the And-1 Mixtape days from the early 2000s.

“I was a kid. I couldn’t get on the internet,” he said when asked if he had any favorite And-1 players when he was growing up. “Maybe A.I. You know, Iverson. Did he do it?”

Luka and the Lakers had a big weekend

The Lakers bounced back from a three-game losing streak by blowing out the Warriors, who continue to be without Stephen Curry, on the road Saturday night and then took care of business against the NBA-worst Kings on Sunday night. Dončić had 26 points against Golden State and continues to lead the league with 32.5 points a game.

The Lakers are now 36-24 on the year and sit in the No. 6 spot in the Western Conference. However, they’re just a game and a half out of the No. 3 spot, which the Rockets currently own.

Up next for Dončić and the Lakers is a home game Tuesday night against the lowly Pelicans.
