Lakers Injury Report: Anthony Davis Discusses Impact Of Hip Injury In Kings Defeat

In this story:
The Lakers' performance on Wednesday night was far from pretty. LA dropped their sixth game of the season after a 125-110 loss to their divsion rivals, the Sacramento Kings.
The Purple and Gold struggled mightily against the run-and-gun Kings, as it seemed like superstar LeBron James was the only one to give his all. The Lakers other superstar, Anthony Davis, seemed to take the night off as he had a sluggish night scoring a measly nine points in 35 minutes, along with nine rebounds and zero assists. It was by far his worst outing of the season; however, it could have a lot to do with possibly re-injuring his hip.
Davis spoke about how it affected him and was hard on himself.
"Obviously it was still bothering me a little bit, but I still have to go out there and do my job.”

Davis injured his hip against the Miami Heat in the second game of LA's four-game road trip. Luckily, it hasn't affected him majorly, as he's only missed one game.
Still, NBA players don't care if you're hurt or laboring. If you're out on the court and get paid to perform big-time, then you need to perform big-time. The Lakers added the keys to the franchise to Davis this past summer, signing him to a three-year extension. If Davis wants to be the man in LA, he needs to show up and be available night in and night out.
There are zero excuses; if you're hurt, don't play. It's frustrating at times to go through this AD rollercoaster, as we all know how he could play each night, and when he doesn't, it's discouraging.
Hopefully, this injury doesn't linger for the rest of the season, as LA will need their star duo out there not only because they are great but to build chemistry and closeness for championship number 18.
We'll see how AD responds on Friday night in Portland.
