Luka Doncic Injury Status For Lakers vs Nuggets

The Los Angeles Lakers are still trying to survive without LeBron James. James hurt his groin a couple of weeks ago against the Celtics and hasn't played since.
That has left Luka Doncic to carry the offense alone, which is something he did often when he was with the Dallas Mavericks. Austin Reaves has played well, so that has made things easier for him.
After losing the first four games without James, the Lakers have won the last two games they've played. They currently sit fourth in the Western Conference standings, but just a game behind the second spot.

Ahead of them in that third spot is the Denver Nuggets. That's who the Lakers have to play on Wednesday night, making this a critical game for the standings battle.
Doncic has been on the injury report for the last few games, even missing the game against the Nuggets that happened less than a week ago.
He's on the injury report again ahead of this matchup with Denver. He missed that game with a right ankle sprain, and he's listed as probable with that same sprain.

If the Lakers want to have any chance of beating the Nuggets, Doncic has to be a big factor in the game. He is one of the best players in the NBA.
Nikola Jokic is once again in the conversation to win the MVP. Los Angeles doesn't have an answer when it comes to defending him, so they just have to hope to outscore the Nuggets.

The Lakers have a tough two-game stretch as they play the Nuggets on Wednesday night and the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday. That's a tough back-to-back for any team to face.
Both the Nuggets and the Bucks are fighting for seeding late in the season. That means that the Lakers will have an extremely tough fight in both games.
Doncic playing well in both games gives Los Angeles the best chance to come out on top. He is still at top-three player in the NBA.
Since joining the Lakers, Doncic is averaging 26.2 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 8.1 assists per game.
