Wild LeBron James, Luka Doncic Playoff Stat Show Clear Advantage for Lakers

In this story:
When the Los Angeles Lakers acquired Luka Doncic in a trade with the Dallas Mavericks, they did so for this time of year. They wanted him because they knew that he would be a killer when the playoffs came.
Now the playoffs are here, and the Lakers are hoping that Doncic can lead his team to the NBA Finals for the second straight year. He led the Mavericks to the Finals a year ago.
Adding him has taken a significant amount of pressure off of LeBron James to create offense for everyone else. Not only can Doncic create for himself, but he can also create for the rest of the team.

Both of those players will be key to the Lakers' playoff run. If they want to make a deep one, they will both have to be spectacular.
One crazy stat should help Lakers fans feel better about their chances. James is the all-time leading scorer in the playoffs, and Doncic has the second-best playoff scoring average.
Since March 1st, 12 players in the NBA are averaging 20+ PPG, 5+ RPG and 5+ APG.

The Lakers are hoping that adding Doncic gives the team an added dimension that they didn't have before. His ability to score off the dribble and create his own shot is what helps teams win in the playoffs.
James is still one of the best playoff performers to ever play in the NBA, so he still can do a lot for the team, even at the age of 40. He still can't be stopped when he goes downhill at full force.

It's still unclear who the Lakers will play in the first round of the playoffs, but they will have home-court advantage over whoever the opponent is. They hope that is a key, too.
Having to defend both James and Doncic will be a tall order for whoever the Lakers face in the playoffs. It's not going to be an easy endeavor.
So far this season, James is averaging 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 8.3 assists per game. Since coming to Los Angeles, Doncic is averaging 28.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 7.8 assists per game.
