Depressing stat somehow makes Mavericks trades look even worse in hindsight

In this story:
Former Dallas Mavericks players are hooping since the trade deadline. Luka Doncic had a 31-point game for the Los Angeles Lakers, where he put up 20 points in the second half to beat the Clippers. Quentin Grimes had a career-high 44 points on 18/24 shooting as the Philadelphia 76ers beat the Golden State Warriors on Saturday.
With Grimes' performance, he became the second guard this season to produce 40+ points, 5+ rebounds, 5+ threes, and 2+ steals in a game. The other guard? Luka Doncic. And the Mavericks traded both players away.

It doesn't help matters that the Mavericks also sent back the 76ers' own 2025 second-round pick, which should fall in the mid-30s. Or that Caleb Martin has yet to play a single game for the Mavericks since that trade. Or that Anthony Davis has only played in three quarters of a game since the Luka Doncic trade.
Dallas and Nico Harrison were already being heavily criticized about the trades when they were announced, but they've somehow managed to get worse in the last few weeks. At least Max Christie has been a serviceable player for the Mavs, but it feels empty knowing that the Mavs gave a player like Doncic and a young talent like Grimes.
