On February 2 of this year, one of the biggest trades in NBA history would go down, one that sent shockwaves through the entire league and left behind tons of unanswered questions. One man in the epicenter of it all was NBA Insider Shams Charania, who was the one to officially break the news on Twitter/X. He went on The Old Man and the Three to discuss his experience that night, and had several interesting things to say.

"My hands were shaking," he explained on to the hosts of the show. "You had to make sure every detail was right, you had to make sure there was no typo...I didn't have a graphic to go with it because it was so sudden...From the time I heard about it to the time I put it out? Probably five to seven minutes went by...After that, my phone was a mess."

This video clip highlights the absurdity of this trade from a different perspective – not only were Mavericks and NBA fans in general shocked, but the deal managed to surprise a person like Charania, who has been on the breaking news circuit for years. That could either come as a relief to Mavericks fans or only further amplify their anger, but the absolutely baffling trade has been exposed as such by so many different analysts and even anonymous front office members from other teams.

It may take this franchise years to recover from the swap, and fans aren't faced with an easy experience either.
