UPDATE 2: Cade Cunningham is downgraded to OUT, the Pistons announced.
UPDATE: Cade Cunningham has been upgraded to AVAILABLE on Wednesday against the Atlanta Hawks.
Soon, the Detroit Pistons will wrap up another disappointing season. Making it out of 2023-2024 regular season healthy has been a challenge but it remains a priority, especially when it comes to the franchise player, Cade Cunningham.
Therefore, Cunningham could miss action on Wednesday night, when the Pistons take on the Atlanta Hawks.
According to the Pistons’ injury report, Cunningham is questionable as he’s continuing to manage his knee.
Coming off of an injury-riddled sophomore season, Cunningham has been fortunate with good health throughout the year this time around. The young guard appeared in 36-straight games to begin the year, and didn’t miss his first set of action until January 9.
Cunningham missed an eight-game stretch in January, but has been mostly healthy since returning to action on January 27.
Over the last 31 games for the Pistons, Cunningham has just missed five outings. During the 26-game stretch, Cunningham has averaged 32 minutes on the court, During that time, he has produced 22 points per game, while shooting 45 percent from the field and 38 percent from three.
Along with his scoring, Cunningham came down with five rebounds per game and dished out eight assists per outing during that stretch.
Lately, Cunningham’s been a regular on the Pistons’ injury report. Despite that, he’s been available for the previous three games. The last time Cunningham missed action was on March 25, when the Pistons paid a visit to the New York Knicks.
Against Atlanta, Cunningham is likely a game-time decision. The Pistons and the Hawks are set to tip off at 7:30 PM ET.
