Hamidou Diallo Done For The Season

Per a release from the Pistons, Hamidou Diallo is going to be out for the rest of the season.
"Pistons guard Hamidou Diallo will miss the remainder of the 2021-22 season with a left index finger avulsion fracture," the Pistons said in a release. "The injury occurred at the 11:50 mark of the fourth quarter vs. the Chicago Bulls on March 9."
During the second half of the season, Diallo proved to be a valuable member of the Pistons bench. He would often come into the game with a ton of energy and almost always made at least one "wow" play. Since mid-December and before his injury, Diallo was pacing the NBA in steals and oftentimes, those steals led to a highlight reel dunk.
Hamidou Diallo has recorded 33 steals since Dec. 18, ranking 1st in the NBA in steals since that time. Diallo has 12 games with multiple steals this season, including in each of the last four games. #Pistons

With Diallo out for the last stretch of games, expect to see extra minutes for guys like Rodney McGruder, Frank Jackson and recently-signed Braxton Key. Diallo was quite productive as a reserve, so it'll take a collective effort to replace what he brought to the court.
