Suns vs. Spurs: 3 Best Bets

For the fourth and final time this season, the San Antonio Spurs will face off against the Phoenix Suns, and we compiled our three best bets.

The San Antonio Spurs could claim a 3-1 victory in the season series against the Phoenix Suns tonight, although they lost the most recent matchup against Kevin Durant and company on Saturday.

A lackluster game from Victor Wembanyama was answered by 32 points from Devin Booker, and the Spurs fell to the Suns for the first time this season. While the Suns are trying to establish themselves as championship contenders, the Spurs are still trying to learn valuable lessons as the rebuild carries on.

Charles Bassey remains out for the Spurs, while Wembanyama is questionable (ankle). Dominick Barlow is also questionable, as he is with the Austin Spurs on assignment. If Wembanyama doesn't play, expect Barlow to join the team. Damion Lee is the only Sun out.

The Lines

Point spread: Suns -12.5 (-110)/Spurs +12.5 (-118)

Money line: Suns (--752)/Spurs (+475)

Over/under: 234.5

Our Picks

Safe pick: Victor Wembanyama OVER 3.5 blocks (-150)

Despite posting only one block against Phoenix in the last game, he has posted at least three in the four games prior to that and averaged three blocks across his earlier two games against the Suns. He should be back to form tonight, which means anything between four and eight blocks.

Opponent pick: Grayson Allen OVER 2.5 threes made (-188)

Despite not even attempting a three on Saturday, Allen is one of the best shooters in the league. With the gravity Booker, Durant, and Beal have, Allen has benefited from less defensive attention than he deserves. Before Saturday, he was riding a six-game streak of three or more threes made, so expect him to get back on track.

Hopeful pick: Victor Wembanyama OVER 22.5 points (-118)

Wembanyama can beat the Suns. He scored 18 and 38 points against them in his fourth and fifth NBA games ever, so he does have their number. His 21.2 point average over his last five games suggests that he might fall short tonight, but his last dud--12 points against Dallas--was followed up by a 31-point outing, so his 13-point game on Saturday should be brushed off.
