Suns Down Bulls 125-104 in Friday Night Win
The Phoenix Suns went to the United Center looking for a win over the Chicago Bulls, and that's exactly what they got in a 125-104 victory on Friday night. First time scoring 125+ since Jan. 28.
The Suns now improve to 35-29 on the year and have won their last five-of-seven.
Devin Booker (35 points, five rebounds and six assists) led the Suns in scoring and has now hit the fourth time he's scored 30+ points in back-to-back games this season.
Kevin Durant (20 points, nine rebounds and six assists) was on a minutes restriction on Wednesday but managed to play over 31 minutes in the win.
The Suns saw three players with 20+ points, the last of which was Josh Okogie (25 points) tied a career high with six three-pointers made tonight. This was also the fifth time Okogie hit 20+ points this season.
As for the Bulls, DeMar DeRozan (31) and Zach LaVine (27) combined for 58 points in the loss. Chicago shot just 30% from downtown and made 76% of their free throws.
Phoenix climbed up by as much as 13 points in the first two quarters before the Bulls eventually took a 64-60 lead at the half. Things looked to be tight heading down the stretch before Booker's 13 points in the third quarter pushed Phoenix ahead 94-85 with one to play.
Chicago would threaten a time or two in the fourth quarter but the Suns eventually pulled away with under seven minutes to play.
The Suns won the rebound battle 41-34 and shot 50% from the field. Phoenix also protected the rim with seven blocked shots on the night.
Phoenix returns to action Sunday afternoon against the Dallas Mavericks.
