Quick Recap: Suns Fall to Bucks in Sunday Showdown

The Phoenix Suns fumbled a late lead to the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday.

In a early road test against one of the best teams in the league, the Phoenix Suns fumbled a seven point lead late in the fourth quarter to secure a 104-101 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday.

Phoenix now drops to 33-29 on the year. The Bucks have won their 14th game in a row.

Though some big names in Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kevin Durant were missing due to injury, fans were still treated to plenty of great basketball.

Devin Booker missed his first six shots but would eventually find his rhythm, leading the Suns with 24 points to go along with eight assists. Deandre Ayton wasn't far behind with 22 points and 11 rebounds, his fourth double-double in the last five games.

Jrue Holiday led the way for Milwaukee in their win with 33 points with Brook Lopez pitching in 22 points and 12 boards of his own.

The Bucks lead by as much as 11 in the game, carrying a lead after the first quarter and into the halftime break as well. The two sides went back and forth the entire way in what felt like a winnable game for both teams down to the wire.

Chris Paul eventually got hot in the third quarter after a slow first half and propelled the Suns into the lead. Phoenix got up by as much as seven late in the fourth quarter before back-to-back three's from Jae Crowder drew the game at 96-96 with just over three minutes to play.

Though a Booker fadeaway tied the game at 100-100 with 30 seconds left, Lopez would answer on the other end and Phoenix was unable to match Milwaukee the rest of the way.

Phoenix will return to action on Wednesday in the second game of their road trip against the Charlotte Hornets, where Durant is expected to make his debut.
