Changes have been a somewhat constant for the Phoenix Suns since the beginning of 2023. We've seen a new owner take over, a superstar arrive and a leader fired all under the first six months of the calendar year.

More change could be coming.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting Golden State Warriors president/general manager Bob Myers is stepping away from his position with the team.

"It's just time," Myers told ESPN in their report. According to Wojnarowski, Myers' contract expired in late June and he declined offers on a new deal "that would have paid him among the league's top earning executives," but the situation isn't tied to financials.

"Myers, 48, said he's unsure of his future professional pathway, but should he someday decide to return to the team side, he's expected to become the one of the most pursued executives in modern North American professional sports history," said Wojnarowksi.

"Myers' blend of leadership, talent evaluation and the respect that he commands at every level of the industry -- ownership, front office, coaches, players and agents -- makes him a uniquely appealing part of a potential ownership group or front office."

Back in January, The Athletic reported the Suns were one of a few teams monitoring his situation with Golden State:

"According to sources close to the situation, Washington, Phoenix, and New York are all worth monitoring as possibilities."

Could a move now be on the horizon?

It's very clear new Suns owner Mat Ishbia is directly involved with basketball operations, as he was reportedly the man to pull the trigger on firing Monty Williams and was the one that ultimately wheeled-and-dealed to get Kevin Durant on the roster.

We've learned two things about Ishbia during his short stint here: He wants to win, and money will not be an issue for the Suns moving forward.

Adding somebody of Myers' caliber to the front office in any capacity would be a major win for Phoenix.
