Devin Booker, Cam Payne Out vs. Grizzlies

The Phoenix Suns will be without guards Devin Booker and Cam Payne on Friday against the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Phoenix Suns are set to host the Memphis Grizzlies in what is one of the more anticipated matchups of the season thus far.

However, the Suns will again be shorthanded when they take the floor.

Devin Booker will miss his third straight game with groin soreness. Cam Payne was also ruled out with a foot injury. He played just eight minutes against the Houston Rockets on Dec. 13 and has missed the next four games.

Josh Okogie and Jock Landale are currently labeled as questionable.

The Suns look to rebound after fumbling a ten-point lead to the Washington Wizards on Tuesday. They enter Friday having won their last three-of-four games.

Phoenix hopes to get Booker back for a Christmas Day matchup with the Denver Nuggets. The Suns also hope some of that 58 point magic is still available from him.

However, the Suns would also be okay if Landry Shamet repeated his career-high of 31 points from Tuesday.

“Landry (Shamet) played his tail off on both ends. Just really gave us that confidence to run these big plays for a three. Every time he shot the ball, we almost stand up and are just like, ‘Go in.’ We know how he can shoot," said Deandre Ayton after Shamet tied the franchise record for most three's made in a game with nine.

"He works hard every day, whether it’s on some of the little injuries, he is taking care of it. He rehabs a lot and stays on top of his game. He takes care of his craft and it showed tonight.”

In Payne's absence, Shamet, Okogie and Damion Lee have seen an increase in minutes.

Phoenix hosts Memphis at 8:00 p.m. Arizona time in a nationally televised ESPN game.
