NBA All-Star Players Want to See Chris Paul Win a Title

In this story:
Phoenix Suns point guard Chris Paul has achieved plenty in his long playing career, yet one accolade - perhaps the hardest to obtain - is missing from his trophy cabinet: A NBA title.
Paul's introduction to Phoenix gave hope that he could check that box in two separate years. 2021 saw the Suns up 2-0 in the NBA Finals before eventually collapsing to the Milwaukee Bucks while 2022 saw a franchise-best 64 wins in the regular season before a 2-0 lead to the Dallas Mavericks evaporated in the Western Conference Semifinals.
Now with the addition of Kevin Durant, the Suns are once again finding themselves in the conversation of title favorites. In a poll conducted by The Athletic, players at NBA All-Star Weekend festivities voted Paul and Damian Lillard as the top players they wanted to see get a ring.
“CP3. He’s one of those guys who comes in and does the work and never complains," said Collin Sexton.
“Probably CP, just because I’ve grown up watching him for so long and to see him get a ring would be dope," said Tyrese Haliburton.
“Chris Paul, for sure. Or my cousin, Nickeil (Alexander-Walker)," said Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
Russell Westbrook followed Paul/Lillard with two votes. Suns shooting guard Devin Booker also received a vote.
With just 22 games to go, the Suns are the No. 5 seed in the West with a 32-28 record.
They return to action on Friday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder, where Durant could very well make his debut with Phoenix.
