Nikola Jokic Praises Kevin Durant After Suns vs Nuggets Battle

The former MVP had glowing reviews for Kevin Durant.

PHOENIX -- What a turn of events.

The Phoenix Suns defeated the defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets in a much-needed road victory on Wednesday, providing a stellar response to what may have been the squad's worst game of the season in a Monday loss to the San Antonio Spurs.

Kevin Durant was a main proponent of Phoenix's win, adding 30 points with 13 rebounds, three assists and five blocks on the night.

Nikola Jokic gave him props following the win:

"What he's doing the last - I don't know how many, 15 years, He's a great scorer, great shooter, even on the defensive end he had a couple blocks that disturbed our offense too," Jokic said following the game

"... I think he was getting the shots that he wants, the shots that he can make. He's a great player. Maybe we could do something different, maybe not, but they're a really, really good team and they have so many threats on the floor."

Suns coach Frank Vogel was pleased with Durant, too.

"Yeah he had five blocks and 30 points, obviously he carries a load there for us. When he is being aggressive like that offensively I think it just gives our whole group a little bit more confidence knowing that we are rolling with one of the best to ever do it and that he is going and that we have a great chance to win no matter who we are playing," he said.

"And to see his commitment as a low man, another point in our film session is that we are dodging out of the way as a group defensively. His low man play was exceptional and five blocks. Just a great two way performance."

Last night was just the 11th time Durant has recorded five or more blocks in one game according to StatMuse. The Suns handed Denver just their third loss since the All-Star break and are one of two teams to now have multiple wins in Denver this season.

The Suns return to action on Friday against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
