Report: NBA Looks To Resume Season July 31st
It appears the NBA is headed toward resuming play. According to The Athletic's Shams Charania, league commissioner Adam Silver informed the Board of Governors that July 31st is a target date for the return of the season. The exact format is still to be determined as play is likely to take place at a bubble site like Disney World in Orlando. Still, Sports Illustrated's Robin Lundberg and "The Fantasy Exec" Corey Parson discussed how it feels appropriate the NBA would lead a return to sports since the postponement of the league in many ways began the shutdown. And they are certainly excited about the news.

Robin Lundberg: It looks like the NBA is on the way back with July 31st the reported target date for the season to resume. For more, I'm joined by the fantasy exec Corey Parson. Now Corey, you know, it's kind of fitting, right? The NBA sort of started the realization of how serious the pandemic was. Maybe they can help bring sports back.
Corey Parson: Yeah. Way back on March 11th, the NBA season came to a pause and kind of the United States and the world came to a pause as we battle the COVID-19 pandemic. We've heard a lot of rumors going on over the course of the past few weeks. But it's good to see that we finally have a target date out there, July 31st. I think they try to have the season wrapped up somewhere around October 1st. Interesting dynamic, you have NBA playoffs, NFL training camp, and then you have the NFL season all going on at the same time. I think its yet to be worked out exactly how many teams will come back and how they play out this season to determine the champion. But definitely things looking very optimistic for the National Basketball Association.
Robin Lundberg: Yeah, I'm just excited. I'm not going to, you know, put any negative spin on it, because you would think they they had to have considered going up against the NFL, and this is just logistically how it was going to work out. So I'll instead say maybe we're on course for the best sports summer and fall of all time.
