Draymond Green Slams NBA Amid Joel Embiid’s Injury Situation

Draymond Green isn't a fan of the new NBA rules.

One of the most controversial decisions the NBA made this season was when they changed the eligibility to win NBA awards to playing a minimum of 65 games. At the time, players didn't seem to complain, but now that it's here, they don't seem happy about it - especially Draymond Green.

On the newest episode of The Draymond Green Show, the Warriors player absolutely lit into the NBA and its newest rule.

"I actually think it's quite bullsh*t," Green said. "Guys didn't face those rules before, but those same All-NBA teams, those same MVP awards, list Defensive Player of the Year. Those lists are the same. I once lost a Defensive Player Year of the Award to Kawhi Leonard, and I think he played 51 games."

In Green's eyes, he looks at the 65-game rule as a big reason why Joel Embiid is dealing with his injury now. He believes Joel Embiid forced himself to play against the Golden State Warriors in a game he wouldn't have played in otherwise.

"In turn, you get Joel [Embiid] who comes out there tonight, and he forces," Green said. "Freak play with him and JK [Kuminga] diving for the ball, but, maybe it's not as bad if the knee isn't already banged up. I don't really bang with it. Now, we got one of our premiere faces, the MVP of our league, possibly hurt for an extended period of time because he's forcing it."

As it turns out, Joel Embiid now has a legitimate meniscus injury. Would it have been prevented if he hadn't forced himself to play in order to meet the minimum games to win MVP?
