Injury Report: Key Player Unexpectedly Ruled OUT in Warriors vs. Grizzlies Game

In this story:
Already down Andrew Wiggins and Gary Payton II, the Golden State Warriors will also be without Jonathan Kuminga vs. the Memphis Grizzlies, as the young forward rolled his ankle during pregame warmups.
Kuminga has been a key part of Golden State's rotation for a while now, and has been playing especially well recently. Since the All-Star break, Kuminga is averaging 13.8 PPG, 4.8 RPG, and 1.9 APG on 52.9% from the field and 40.0% from deep. The Warriors have outscored opponents by 24 points in Kuminga's post All-Star break minutes, as his contributions have been felt on both ends.
Without Kuminga and Wiggins, the Warriors are down their two most athletic forwards against a Grizzlies team that likes to play fast. While the Grizzlies remain without Ja Morant, the Warriors will still feel the absence of Kuminga after he was expected to play before rolling his ankle pregame.
With Kuminga out, the Warriors could turn to additional minutes for Andre Iguodala, who was recently activated after a long injury absence. While the team does not like to rely heavily on Iguodala at this stage of his career, they will need his length and savvy without two of their best wing defenders.
This game between the Warriors and Grizzlies has major implications in the Western Conference, as both teams are looking to optimize their position in the standings.
