Warriors Reveal Andrew Wiggins' Expected Game 1 Status vs. Kings

In this story:
Now back with the Golden State Warriors after an extended personal absence, Andrew Wiggins is expected to be back on the court for Game 1 of the playoffs against the Sacramento Kings. It was reported by Warriors GM Bob Myers that Wiggins is expected to be back for Game 1 after not playing in any of the remaining regular season games once he rejoined the team.
Andrew Wiggins scrimmaged yesterday and today. Steve Kerr said he looked "really good" in them. Speaking on 95.7 The Game on Wednesday, Bob Myers said all indications point toward Wiggins being ready for Game 1 on Saturday.

While there was some hope that Wiggins would get some regular season action back under his belt upon re-joining the team, the Warriors felt it was best to take the additional time to ramp up his conditioning before the playoffs begin.
After such a long absence, it takes time to ramp up conditioning, and that is something the Warriors have the time to do after avoiding the play-in tournament. Getting an extra week of rest by securing the 6th seed, the Warriors will be able to ramp Wiggins up more extensively. This is great news for the Warriors, and while nothing has been made official, it does seem as if Wiggins is prepared to make his return for Game 1 of the playoffs.
The Warriors know they will need Wiggins back and healthy in order to accomplish what they hope to accomplish this postseason. Wiggins being on track to make his return for Game 1 is a big deal for Golden State, and something that cannot be overlooked.
