Golden State Warriors Make Big Injury Announcement

Golden State Warriors guard Chris Paul has not played since January 5th, as a broken hand has kept him sidelined, but the team announced on Monday that Paul is available to make his return on Tuesday night vs. the Washington Wizards.

This is a big announcement, as the Warriors will now have to integrate a key piece back into their rotation, which Steve Kerr recently addressed with the media.

"Chris [Paul], when he comes back, will play all of the non-Steph [Curry] minutes," Kerr said. "He'll be out there with Steph, as well. It's easier for us to put Steph off the ball and take some of the wear and tear off when Chris is out there, because he doesn't have to bring it up."

Despite their loss to the Denver Nuggets, the Warriors feel they have found a good rhythm with their current starting lineup and rotation, but that will need to be altered a bit once Paul returns. The expectation is that Paul will come off the bench alongside Klay Thompson, which should create a solid tandem offensively for that second group.

Kerr has mentioned several times that Paul has been in most of Golden State's best lineups, which certainly leaves open the possibility of him closing games, even though he will not be in the starting lineup.
