Mavericks Announce Luka Doncic Injury Update vs. Warriors

In this story:
Leaving Wednesday night's game vs. the Golden State Warriors during the fourth quarter, Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic did not return. In an official injury update, the Mavericks revealed what caused Doncic to exit, writing, "Luka Doncic (left hamstring soreness) will not return to tonight's game against the Warriors."
This is the extent of what the Mavericks have shared, as additional information will likely become available as Doncic is evaluated further by the medical staff.
NBA insider Marc Stein, who was covering the game, wrote the following on X (formerly known as Twitter):
"After an alley-oop lob to Daniel Gafford with 6:46 to go, Doncic landed with a grimace, told Jason Kidd he needed to come out and went straight to the locker room. He exited with 21 points, 9 assists and 3 boards … bringing an end to his streak of seven straight triple-doubles."
This seemed to be when Doncic began experiencing the hamstring issue, and what led to him leaving the game and not returning. Hamstring injuries can be very tricky, so the Mavericks will certainly have to be careful with Doncic.
Dallas plays again on Thursday night, facing the OKC Thunder in the second half of a back-to-back. Doncic's status for that game will be announced by the team some time on Thursday morning or afternoon, so that will be something to watch for.
