Star Player Ruled OUT for Warriors vs. Nets

The Golden State Warriors are facing the Brooklyn Nets on Monday night, and star forward Andrew Wiggins has been ruled out with left ankle soreness. Speaking with reporters before the game, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr revealed that Wiggins would be out for this game, but added the injury is day-to-day.

The Warriors do not expect Wiggins to be out long, but he is unavailable for this game in Brooklyn. While Wiggins has not had a good season, and is one of the reasons the Warriors have struggled so much this year, his fit in their new starting lineup has been a good one.

The Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, Jonathan Kuminga, Draymond Green lineup has been an encouraging one for the Warriors, as they look to have finally found a five-man group that works. This lineup will look even better if Wiggins can shoot around the 39% clip from deep that he was at the last two seasons, as he is currently shooting just 31% from downtown this year.

There is a lot of trade speculation surrounding Wiggins, as his name has been floated as a possible trade candidate for the Warriors, but Kerr recently quieted some of that noise, saying he hopes Wiggins is around beyond the deadline.

Every single game is critical for the Warriors right now, as they are in desperate need of wins. This game against the Nets is one the Warriors need to get, even down one of their starters.
