Can The Wizards Get Lucky Tonight Against Celtics

Wizards Hosting Eastern Conference Best Tonight

The NBA is a long season. We are approaching the end of the NBA regular season. At this time, there are some teams that seem to check out as they may be ready for the postseason. The Boston Celtics are in town tonight to take on the Wizards. They may not have checked out, but they definitely are ready for the postseason as they have aims of winning it all this season.

On the other hand, there are teams that are just ready for the season to end so they can have a restart at the regular season. That is the case for the Washington Wizards as they have absolutely nothing to play for at this point. Tonight, they are hoping to experience a bit of luck as they are set to host the best team in basketball - the Boston Celtics.

With the amount of injuries both teams have, one has to wonder can the Wizards get lucky tonight and take down the number one team in the league. Boston will be without All-Star Jaylen Brown, former Wizard Kristaps Porzingis, and Derrick White in this game. This will put a lot of pressure on Jayson Tatum.

No doubt, Tatum is one of the best players in the league. However, he seems to struggle when the pressure is on. He also seems to struggle when he has to take matters into his own hands as his supporting cast may now show up or even be available to play. He plays like he has something to prove when that is the case despite having the best record in the NBA and being one of the premier players. This may work in the Wizards favor tonight.

When Tatum is on top of his game, he is in his triple threat mode where he is attacking the basket, getting to the free throw line, and knocking down the occasional three point shot as well. If the Wizards can force him to take those bad long range shots and get him off to a rough start, they may be able to get lucky in this game. In their last meeting last month, the Wizards lost 133-129. If they can keep the game close like they did in that game, tonight may be the game they can seal the deal on.
