Breaking News: Wizards Move Wes Unseld Jr To Front Office

In this story:
Breaking news is always good in the morning. Indeed, the Wizards have been busy dating back to last summer with roster reconstruction and moving some things and plans around within the front office. Although breaking news is always good to start the day, it is never good when someone loses a job within the breaking news.

The Washington Wizards have decided to move on from Wes Unseld Jr. as their Head Coach. This season, the Wizards are 7-36 thus far. That is the second worst record in the entire league and the second worst record in the Eastern Conference. The only team that is worst than the Wizards are the struggling Detroit Pistons.

What’s interesting and surprising about the move and transition is the fact that the Wizards made this change the day of a game day. Tonight, the Wizards will play the Utah Jazz at home in Washington. However, it will remain to be seen who will take over coaching duties as the Interim Head Coach.
Why The Wizards May Be Title Contenders Next Season
The Wizards front office and Will Dawkins must really be fond of Wes Unseld Jr since he is now able to work next to them in a front office role. They are continuing the overall respect and admiration for the Unseld family as Wes Unseld Jr is the son of Washington Bullets legend Wes Unseld. The Leonsis family is very close to the Unselds so one can imagine that they would want to continue that bond.
Unseld compiled a record of 77-130 (.372) in his two-plus seasons with the team. Wizards will have an interim coach for the season and hire a full-time coach in the offseason. https://t.co/4ozhG6PbCe

As Head Coach of the Wizards, it hasn’t gone particularly well as they were 77-130 under Wes Unseld Jr. The road ahead is looking very promising for the Wizards as all chips are on the table with cap space, draft assets, and a front office that is willing, ready, and able to make moves to improve the team.
Washington D.C.'s professional football and basketball teams are making big moves. It remains to be seen if strong long lasting improvements lie ahead.
