Washington Wizards Jordan Poole Target of Ex-Teammate Shade?

Washington Wizards guard Jordan Poole had issues with Golden State Warriors teammate Draymond Green, but is he the target in the forward's latest bold comments?

Washington Wizards guard Jordan Poole has gotten off to a tough start in his first year with his new team.

Last off-season Poole came over from the Golden State Warriors in a trade that sent guard Chris Paul to the west coast. This was all a part of the domino effect from the blockbuster trade that sent ex-Wizards guard Bradley Beal to the Phoenix Suns.

Warriors forward Draymond Green has been an important part of their run to championships in the past decade, but last year was an obvious disappointment with the loss they had in the Western Conference Semifinals.

With that loss came a lot of questions about age of players and if the Golden State run was coming to an end, the trade for Paul signifies that internally they didn't feel those questions were valid.

In fact, Green made some interesting comments after the Warriors close win to the Sacramento Kings, saying last year was an anomaly.

"Last year was horse sh*t," Green said postgame to a question about the team's chemistry. "We did some stuff this summer, had dinners together - no one was running out the door. Usually, there's that guy who's looking around 'when can I get out.'"

Right from the beginning last year vibes were weird for Golden State when Green punched Poole in the face in training camp.

Los Angeles Lakers guard Dennis Schroder (17) lays on the ground after being fouled by Golden State Warriors guard Jordan Poole (3) in the fourth quarter during game one of the 2023 NBA playoffs at the Chase Center.

"But you look at last year, you say this team hasn't lost a Western Conference series under Steve Kerr, and it happened," Green said. "A big reason why is our chemistry sucked...It was a one-year thing. Stuff happens it was an anomaly."

If chemistry was the issue for the Warriors last year but is back to good vibes this year than what has changed?

While we can't confirm Green is specifically talking about Poole, we do know they had issues from the physical altercation that seemed like they were never fully resolved.

There also wasn't a lot of big changes from last year other than Poole as most of the Golden State core has stayed the same.

Whether or not the comments were about Poole, ever since he has been with the Wizards teammates haven't had anything bad to say about him, in fact he has even gotten praise. Continue to read on that below.
