Three Reasons To Rejoice That Kyrie Irving Didn’t Get Traded To Wizards

In this story:
This may be the most interesting time of the year for the NBA. Well, why do I say that? This season has been nothing but interesting with all the scoring and incredible individual performances that we all have witnessed thus far. While that may be true, player movement is always something that will keep our gears grinding.

Breaking News just took place as the Brooklyn Nets have traded All Star Guard Kyrie Irving and Forward Markieff Morris to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for Guard Spencer Dinwiddie, Forward Dorian Finney-Smith, 2029 1st Round Draft Pick, 2027 & a 2029 Second Round Draft Pick.
The Washington Wizards have been struggling all of a sudden after winning six straight games. Did the Wizards miss out on acquiring the All Star Guard? Here are three reasons why the Wizards should be glad they didn’t trade for the veteran PG.
1. Washington just acquired PG Kendrick Nunn
The Washington Wizards recently acquired Kendrick Nunn from the LA Lakers. Nunn is only 27 years old and has a lot of basketball left in his future. On the other hand, Kyrie is getting older and has a ton of mileage on his body. Nunn is averaging about 10 PPG in 20 minutes per game. That’s pretty effective in a limited role.
2. Kyrie Irving is full of distractions
One major thing that contributes to losing is culture. This Wizards team gets along quite nicely if you ask me. Kyrie Irving will change the temperature in the room as soon as he arrives. He is full of distractions which leads to disappointment. Whether he is injured or just doesn’t think basketball is a priority, his availability is his worst ability.
3. More than likely, he would have been a rental
The reason a lot of GMs in the NBA are hesitant to make deals is because they fear if they can retain players. Kyrie is set to hit the open market this summer. While he wants a major deal, the question you have to ask yourself is if he is worth the deal and can your check book afford him?
