In this story:

The Washington Wizards are 2-0 in the preseason for the first time since 2017-2018.

The Washington Wizards moved up the preseason win column with a comeback win over the Charlotte Hornets 98-92. The Wizards are now 2-0 with both wins taking place at Capital One Arena.

Washington forward Kyle Kuzma dropped a game-high 19 points on 8-of-16 (.500) shooting, adding four rebounds and three assists to his stat line. Kuzma also led the way in points scored in the team’s first preseason game against the Cairns Taipans with 22 points.

In preseason game two, Wizards rookie guard/forward Bilal Coulibaly netted 12 points (5-9 FG, 2-3 3PT), also grabbing five rebounds, one assist and one block to his stat line. The rookie also played the most minutes of the team with a little over 28 on the court.

Early impressions of Coulibaly indicate he’s a refreshing addition, especially on the defensive end of the floor states Inside the Wizards writer Carita Parks.

There are some injuries on the Wizards roster of note: Taj Gibson, Patrick Baldwin Jr, Deni Avdija. Anthony Gill, and Landry Shamet are all listed as day to day.

Added to the injury list is Johnny Davis with an elbow injury.

The Washington Wizards organization continue to positively impact the DC community. Last week the team announced that they have partnered with non-profit organization Learn Fresh to launch “Wizards Math Hoops” presented by KPMG LLP. Learn Fresh is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing innovative STEM learning experiences that empower educators and inspire students. This engaging educational program aims to help students across the District excel in mathematics. Wizards Math Hoops is free of charge to educators for the 2023-24 school year.
