Washington Wizards NBA G League Affiliate Announces 2023-24 Coaches Staff

The Washington Wizards G League affiliate the Capital City Go-Go announced their coaching staff for the 2023-24 season under new Head Coach Cody Toppert. His assistant coaches will be as follows…Devin Smith, James Fraschilla, Liam Flynn and Alexis Ajinça.
“I am humbled and excited to welcome this diverse group of forward-thinking and innovative coaches with experience at all levels around the globe to the Go-Go,” coach Toppert said about the staff. "The group we put together will uphold the highest standards both on and off the court with an emphasis on player development and making a positive impact on the DMV community.”
New Coaches Experience…
Devin Smith was previously an assistant coach for the Iowa Wolves, NBA G League Affiliate of the Minnesota Timberwolves (2019-21). Smith also served as a player development assistant coach with Toppert with the Phoenix Suns in the 2018-19 season.
He played professional basketball overseas for 12 years and for the University of Virginia before that from 2002-2005.
James Fraschilla was previously an assistant coach for the Grand Rapids Gold, NBA G League Affiliate of the Denver Nuggets.
Fraschilla also spent time with the Orlando Magic serving in three positions from 2018-2021 as the video and player development coach, head video coordinator, and video associate.
He's also held positions with the Salt Lake City Stars (Player Development staff), the 2016-17 USA Basketball Men’s National Team (Video Coordinator), and the Maine Red Claws (head video coordinator/player development coach).
Franschilla played four years for the Oklahoma Sooners.
Liam Flynn hails from Australia and has coached all over the world including in his home country, Germany, Israel, China, New Zealand, and Tunisia.
Flynn was also an international scout for the Charlotte Hornets (2021-23) and the Phoenix Suns (2016) and attended college at the University of South Australia & University of Queensland.
Alexis Ajinça will be making his coaching debut for the Go-Go this season.
Ajinça played nine seasons in the NBA with the New Orleans Pelicans (2013-18), Toronto Raptors (2011), Dallas Mavericks (2010-11), and Charlotte Bobcats (2008-2010).
He was drafted by Charlotte with the 20th overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft.
Ajinca is a former D League All-Star from 2010 and he also played overseas in France with Pau-Orthez (2006-07), Hyères-Toulon (2007-08), and SIG Strasbourg (2011-2013).
