Seahawks' Pete Carroll upset about Marshawn Lynch's holdout
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll was upset when he heard running back Marshawn Lynch would be holding out of training camp with two years and $13 million remaining on his contract.

"It's a contract for a reason. We made a decision and it was signed, by us and by them," Carroll told Tom Pelissero of USA Today on Friday after the Seahawks' first training camp practice. "We expect them to honor their contract just as we will. We're going to honor it and we expect them to do the same.
"We've had a big plan for a long time working here, and Marshawn is a huge part of that plan, and we made a huge commitment to him a couple years ago. He remains a big part of that plan — if he'll show up."
The 28-year-old Lynch signed a four-year, $30 million deal in March 2012 that has already paid him $17 million. The $7.5 million average per year is among the the top six NFL running backs, Pelissero reports.
Lynch faces a $30,000 fine each day of training camp he misses and could forfeit a portion of his signing bonus if the holdout reaches six days.
The four-time Pro Bowler has rushed for at least 1,200 yards and 11 touchdowns in each of his three full seasons with Seattle. He's also missed only eight games in his seven-year career.
