NFL vice president of football communications Michael Signora told reporters Wednesday that Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch will not be fined for wearing a Beast Mode hat at his Super Bowl Media Day press conference.

Signora also said Lynch complied with his media obligations.

After Lynch wore the hat while speaking to the media last week, ESPN's Adam Schefter and Darren Rovell reported that he could be fined for wearing unsanctioned gear. A fine was not assessed because the hat was made by New Era, an NFL licensee.

At Tuesday's Super Bowl Media Day, Lynch answered all questions with a variation of "I'm here so I don't get fined." On Wednesday, he took a similar approach, answering everything with "You know why I'm here."

Lynch was fined $100,000 by the league earlier in the season for refusing to speak to the media after games and was fined twice during the season for making an inappropriate gesture after touchdowns.
