After being cut by the Indianapolis Colts on Monday, free agent defensive tackle Ricky Jean Francois will visit the San Francisco 49ers and Washington Redskins this week, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.
Jean Francois, 28, appeared to confirm the news on Wednesday when he retweeted Rapoport's report.
The Colts released Jean Francois after he completed two seasons of a four-year, $22 million contract. He set career highs last season with 28 combined tackles and 3.0 sacks.
Jean Francois was a seventh-round pick by the 49ers in the 2009 draft out of LSU and spent the first four seasons of his career with the team. New 49ers head coach Jim Tomsula was the team's defensive line coach while Jean Francois was on the team.
During his six-year career, Jean Francois has recorded 96 combined tackles and 8.5 sacks in 74 games.
