Titans LB Kamerion Wimbley announces retirement

The nine-year veteran linebacker has announced his retirement.

Titans linebacker KamerionWimbleyannounced his retirement from the NFL on Thursday.

Wimbley, who was set to enter his tenth season in the league, played for the Browns, Raiders and Titans during his career.

"I’d like to thank the Browns, the Raiders and the Titans Organizations for believing in me and allowing me to represent their cities," Wimbley wrote in his announcement.

The linebacker said that while he still has faith in his playing ability, he wants to spend more time with his family. 

"While I still feel like I could be competitive on the field, at this point in my life, my family is my priority. Although my wife and two young daughters have always been incredibly supportive of my career, I am looking forward to spending more meaningful time with them and never missing another big moment in their lives!"

Last season, Wimbley tallied 32 tackles and two sacks for the Titans.

In his nine years in the NFL, Wimbley recorded 442 tackles, 53.5 sacks and two interceptions.
