Buffalo Bills wide receiver Marquise Goodwin will compete in the Pan American Games for Team USA in the long jump competition.
Goodwin, 24, joins 622 other athletes who were named to Team USA this week.
Goodwin attended Texas on a track and field scholarship, but also played football. He has continued to compete in track and field competition, placing fourth in the long jump at last month's USATF Outdoor Championships with a best distance of 27'5½". Goodwin also represented the U.S. in the 2012 Olympics in London, where he finished 10th in the long jump.
The Bills drafted Goodwin in the third round of the 2013 draft.
Goodwin, who is 5'9", 179 pounds, saw his production decline in 2014 as he dealt with a number of injuries. He caught only one pass in 10 games last season after recording 17 catches, three touchdowns and 283 yards in 12 games in 2013.
The Pan Am Games will be held in Toronto from July 10-26, with the long jump scheduled for July 21-22.
Bills training camp is set to begin on July 30 in Rochester, N.Y.
