Steelers offensive tackle Kelvin Beachum tore his ACL in Sunday’s game against the Cardinals, head coach Mike Tomlin told reporters after Pittsburgh’s 25–13 victory over Arizona on Sunday.

Beachum, 26, left Sunday’s game after a Cardinals’ player fell into him, causing him to hit the ground awkwardly. He needed assistance to leave the field and was carted off to the locker room. He was replaced by Alejandro Villanueva

This season marks Beachum’s fourth in the NFL and a contract year for the offensive tackle. He was a seventh-round pick in 2012 out of SMU. The Steelers began negotiating a contract extension with Beachum this summer but failed to reach a deal before the September deadline.

Quarterback Michael Vick also left the game for the Steelers on Sunday with a hamstring injury and did not return.

Beachum posted this message on Twitter after the game.
