The St. Louis Rams plan to alter the concrete surface behind the benches in the Edwards Jones Dome that has led to injuries in consecutive weeks, reports Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports.

The Rams plan to add turf or another surface on top of the concrete adjacent to their field after Cleveland Browns quarterback Josh McCown and San Francisco 49ers running back Reggie Bush slipped while running past the sideline. McCown suffered a shoulder injury, and Bush’s season was brought to an end after he suffered an ACL tear.

The concrete surface outside of the turf has been a feature of the stadium since it was built in 1995.

Garafolo reports that the NFL is also looking at other stadiums with hard surfaces , and could make additional changes to avoid further injuries.
