49ers QB Blaine Gabbert named starter for Week 11 vs. Seahawks
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Blaine Gabbert will start Week 11 against the Seattle Seahawks, head coach Jim Tomsula announced Monday.
Gabbert, who started Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons in place of a benched Colin Kaepernick, completed 15 of 25 passes for 185 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions to lead San Francisco to a 17–16 win.
“He had a nice day on third down,” Tomsula told reporters Monday. “Very confident, [and he] knew where he wanted to go, and what he wanted to do. He put the ball where it needed to go on the field; the distribution of the ball was good.”
The 49ers (3–6) will travel to Seattle to face the Seahawks (4–4) on Nov. 22 after a bye this week.
