The 49ers have placed running back Carlos Hyde on injured reserve, ending his season.
Hyde started the season with 168 yards and two touchdowns against the Vikings in Week 1, but sustained a stress fracture in his foot in Week 7 and has not returned since.
Hyde, a second-year back out of Ohio State, finishes the season with 115 carries for 470 yards and three touchdowns.
Veteran Shaun Draughn will continue to start in place of Hyde.
In a corresponding move, the team promoted tight end Brian Leonhardt from the practice squad.
